Here are three ways you can streamline your real estate business.
When you start in the real estate business, your focus is on difficult things that eat up a lot of time. This is a normal part of becoming an agent; however, if you’re still doing these things five or seven years into your career, you could be wasting a lot of time. Here are three things you can do now to make your job a breeze in the future:
1. Focus on a small group of people. It could take you three, four, or even six weeks to build this list. Don’t worry—that’s normal. Find the 200 or 250 people you know well and create a new list. You can always use the grocery store test to determine if someone should be on this list. In other words, if you saw them at the store, would you say hi and strike up a conversation? Get these folks’ names, phone numbers, mailing addresses, and anything else you might need.
“There is no one-size-fits-all marketing strategy. ”
2. Focus on strategic and valuable ways to reach your list. How can you reach this list in a non-salesy way? In other words, people should want to talk to you when you call or email them. There is no one-size-fits-all strategy. Calls might work better for some people, but emails might be more effective for others.
3. Focus on a small market to specialize in. I live right outside of Nashville in a small town called Mount Juliet. When I started working here, the town was growing, and I knew it like the back of my hand. You may think working in a small area means you get less business, but the opposite is true. I get a ton of referrals in this town because everyone I work with understands that I know everything there is to know about Mount Juliet.
If you successfully implement these three tips, you can achieve freedom in your personal and professional lives. Call or email me with questions you have about today’s topic or anything else. I look forward to hearing from you!
